Reliable sources indicate a well known area developer may be considering the purchase of East Polk’s Grenelefe Resort. We’re told plans would include a comprehensive facelift and possible return of a full-service conference center.
The property, which borders lake Marion, is currently owned by Orlando-based Westgate Properties. It has been operated as both a tennis and golf resort.
We’ll keep you informed as we learn more … What are your thoughts about a renaissance for Grenelefe?

I think this is wonderful for Winter Haven. We need a fully operational conference center, and having one could draw more business opportunities for the city.

We live in hope. I fondly remember the many wonderful dining experiences at the Grenelefe when it was at its zenith. Also will not forget seeing Martina Navratilova playing tennis there one evening. What an asset for East Polk County if this resort could be returned to its former premier level.
