“Super-sized” on Cypress Gardens Boulevard

Posted by Bob Gernert on June 20, 2007 at 3:29 pm

Look for demolition to begin soon on the former Kash n’ Karry area just east of the Wal-Mart store in Winter Haven Village on Cypress Gardens Boulevard. This is the Wal-Mart center just east of Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Winter Haven.

The area will provide the additional space necessary for transforming the present store into a Wal-Mart Super Center — the second on Cypress Gardens Boulevard. The expansion was actually discussed as early as 2005 and pegged at more than 207,000 square feet … and increase of 93,000 square feet.

Super-sized? … Always!

Watch for more details as the expansion nears completion.

The project joins Southeast Plaza, Cypress Station, Towne Center at Cypress Gardens, new Hyundai and Honda dealerships, and three new bank branches (Citizens, Colonial, and Old Cypress Community) as Cypress Gardens Boulevard burns white hot with commercial expansion.

Sad to see it won’t be a Target. Too many Walmarts in my opinion…

Glad to see they have started. Winter Haven can support two Super Centers.

Do we really need another Wal-Mart???? Would love to see a Books A Million or Pet Smart type store go into that space.

i agree i would much rather see a Target or Books A Million or hey even a Starbucks go up in that plaza. i HATE driving all the way to Lakeland or Lake Wales to go somewhere decent…i love WH and i think that those places will make it better…the last thing we need is another Super Wal-Mart! in my opinion we should just get rid of the Wal-Mart all together and put in something we dont have!

I agree we don’t need another walmart. How about a Ross there’s none around here. Just moved here and there isn’t much of anything around here except Walmarts and Bealls outlet stores. They need a variety of stores here no best buy,no petsupermarkets or any pet stores have to go to lakeland for the stuff that average people need.

I am a current employee of the walmart in question, i would have rather worked for a books a million or a pet smart, preferablly the later since thta is my feild of study. Great people work there and not so great people work there, same goes for the people that shop there. I wish everyone would take into consideration that the people that work there are NOT robots.
