Snow drifting near Winter Haven Public Library
It started snowing on Avenue A, NW about 1:00 today (Thursday, December 20) and as you can see from the photo above, there is major drifting involved. The forcast calls for continued snowfall as crews prepare for tonight’s “Snow Central” event presented by the City of Winter Haven.
You’re invited to bring your mittens and snow shoes and enjoy the snow, games, music and a visit with Santa downtown tonight from 6 - 9 p.m.
Admission is free with a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the Salvation Army or a new unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots.
Now bundle up and drift Downtown!

What are you folks a bit on the crazy side? Importing snow? Obviously too much sunshine. Up here (Eastlake Oh) we travel 1100 miles to get away from that fun fluffy white stuff. I’m glad I didn’t drive down there now to see that pile of, well, snow. Up here snow is a four letter word.
One day my lovely wife and I plan on spending our twilight years together in Winter Haven. I hope that you supply advanced notice on this if it an event you do yearly. We will be sure to stay away!
Have fun! For me the fun part would be to watch it melt!
Jeff
