Construction is underway on a new Kohl’s Department Store located on US 27 south of the intersection with Cypress Gardens Boulevard. The retailer will be located between Home Depot and the present Shoppes on the Ridge. The store plans a December 2008 opening.

My Sister-in-Law comes from Boca to shop in the Lakeland store every time she visits, she’s already smiling.

Glad to see Kohl’s taking the step. This is a perfect location. Now for a Home Goods or Target.

Glad to see they chose this area over Posner Park. Very impressive! This will save an occasional trip to Lakeland.

Glad to hear Kohls is coming to this area. I am tired of driving to Orlando and Tampa to go shopping. Winter Haven needs these improvements. I also agree with Jim who suggested Home Goods and Target….

A Target would be great! I had heard rumors a while back about getting one on Hwy 27 but never heard anymore. Anyone know anything about that?

For those who may not be aware, plans for the location of a new Kohl’s store “north of Lake Wales” have not been announced by Kohl’s or by the City of Lake Wales. Since the site for this development – which was announced by the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce – is actually in Lake Wales, I would expect this announcement, if and when it happens, would be made by Lake Wales officials when plans are finalized and Kohl’s is ready to make an announcement.
I do agree, if this happens, it would certainly be a great thing for the Lake Wales area and other nearby communities. Go Lake Wales!

This is fantastic news.
Now all we need is Home Goods, Bed, Bath & Beyond or Linens N Things, a good book store like Borders or Barnes and maybe even a Cracker Barrel. Of course, Old Navy would also fit the bill.

YOU ALL IN LAKE WALES WOULD NOT HAVE A MALL IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE WINTER HAVEN POPULATION.

Concerning Target on Hwy. 27. It’s under construction on the corner of Hwy. 27 and I-4. Located where Boardwalk & Baseball used to be. Not sure when it will be open.

I am very excited about the news of Kohls and Tartget going up. I have lived in the Lake Wales area for 20+ years and would love not having to drive to Lakeland or Orlando to shop.

I wish now that we get a Home Goods and a TJMaxx close by. Life would be sooo sweet.

Yes! That’s fantastic!! A mall similar to the one at the four corners would be great on 27 in Lake Wales, along with BBB, Sam’s club etc. Can’t wait for the grand opening!!

We’re delighted about Kohl’s, but, what is with T J Maxx? Don’t they realize the potential for opening a large store right here? There’s plenty of room. I always shop T J Maxx on Hilon Head, SC once a year when we go on vacation. This would be GREAT!

What ever happened to Kohl’s? T J MAxx? Where are all these potential stores? I know the ecomomy is bad but people always find money to spend at stores. Besides this is growth for the community/area.
