It was an honor and privilege to know her and to work with her on numerouse community service projects. We are in Milwaukee and got the phone call Thursday.Marlene was something very special and a dream to work with. I had the pleaure of working with her in Winter Haven, in Bartow, and in Tallahassee. Gone but never forgotten. I could not even begin to note the issues on which she made a difference. Because of this you always wanted Marlene on your side of any issue. Winter Haven may not realize the extent of their loss. The candlelight ceremony is a fitting tribute and I am pleased that the Chamber took this step forward. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. Her Husband and daughter are recovering from this tragic event and as they begin to heal physically it will be important for those close to them to help with the emotional healing as well.
